Brendan has gained more than 20 international awards and commendations for feature films, books and journalism.
His screenplays have been winners or finalists in seven of the world’s top screenplay awards – Final Draft International to the Hollywood Symposium and the Archer Prize to Euroscript Gold. In books, Under the Wire was named Best New Writing by the UK’s biggest book chain, Waterstones.
His feature films, Including Johnny Was and The Riddle had wins and nominations at a dozen international festivals including Tacoma, London, Charlotte, Austin, New Hampshire, Nantes, Little Rock, Connecticut, Raindance and Rebelfest Toronto.
For features journalism spanning work in 77 countries over 15 years, he is three-times winner of the PR Week Award for print and video. He also recieved awards and commendations in the British Press Awards, International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill, and multiple Communicators in Business Awards for features on Business, Conflict and the Environment.
JOURNALISM
Brendan’s previous journalistic work focused on business, the environment and occasional conflicts. It has ranged from covering oil spill clean-ups in Alaska to riots in South Korea, strikes in Britain and from civil war to bomb disposal in Angola, pictured below (photos © Brendan Foley).
