Brendan has gained more than 20 international awards and commendations for feature films, books and journalism.

His screenplays have been winners or finalists in seven of the world’s top screenplay awards – Final Draft International to the Hollywood Symposium and the Archer Prize to Euroscript Gold. In books, Under the Wire was named Best New Writing by the UK’s biggest book chain, Waterstones.

His feature films, Including Johnny Was and The Riddle have won or been nominated at numerous festivals including Tacoma, London, Charlotte, Austin, New Hampshire, Nantes, Little Rock, Connecticut, Raindance and Rebelfest Toronto, including many Best Feature and Audience Choice awards.

Previously – for features journalism and corporate communications spanning 77 countries -  he is three-times winner of the PR Week Award for print and video. As a journalist he has also won awards and commendations in the British Press Awards, International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill,  and Communicators in Business for newspaper and magazine features on Business, Conflict and the Environment.  His journalistic work ranged from covering oil spill clean-up in Alaska to riots in South Korea and civil war in Angola, pictured below.
